Smile Free GPS Navigation

Thanks Mary for the information!

I tried RoadComm.net with my free Nextel i670 phone and it works so well. The feature is so rich to the extend I probably don't need my Blackberry anymore.

I tried several tuff navigation route and they all work well. Even can find a street only 6 months old and a restaurant just opened 3 weeks ago.

The POP3/ IMAP/ SMTP mail is as good as Blackberry and it even forward a 4 MB files in split seconds.

I use it to read Time, Business Week, USA Today, get stock portfolio quote, ... during those boring meetings.

I even used it for Face Book.

They still said it's in Beta and is free on their site. Is it free for people registered during beta or for everyone? Do you have any idea?

Thank you agian Mary, you saved me a lot of money!

Smile Re: Free GPS Navigation?

A friend referred me to RoadComm.net which offers free navigation for phones. I was surprised to find out it works much better than Telenav.
It also includes a browser, email tool, social network, traffic map etc. I was able to use my Yahoo address book’s address for navigation and making phone calls to contacts. The business search results are also much better that Telenav.
Very easy to use, need very little typing.
It was not this good the 1st time I used it. I have being using it for 6 months, in between they have made huge improvement according to beta user's input. Up to now, my experience is very good with them.
It's truly free to me while I am not sure it's free for registered beta users only or to everyone. However they are still in beta thus it's not too late to register.

Any of you know a better GPS solution for i670? Or a
less expensive (or free) one?

Re: Free GPS Navigation?

Checked with my friend and he suggested below,
* After merger with Sprint, Nextel database may not well updated throughhout their systems as it should be
* To ensure your subscription is updated, you can see how it's recorded in Nextel database at Nextel's "Mobile Applications Manager".
* Nextel Mobile Applications Manager is at https://mam.sprint.com/mam/mamLogin.jsp

Hope these info helps!

Re: Free GPS Navigation?

FREE GPS

You can download free GPS for your Nextel phone over at Mologogo.com! We have created a video tutorial that demonstrates how to download the GPS software directly into your Nextel phone.
GPS Video Tutorial: Click Here

Step 1: Goto Mologogo.com and create a free account.
Step 2: After you have created a free account click on the downloads tab.
Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom of the phone and click on the download that is compatible with your phone (compatible models are listed next to the downloads).
Step 4: Download the software to a location that you will remember.
Step 5: Open WebJal, connect your data cable to your phone, login, and connect to your phone.
Step 6: In Webjal, click on the J2ME tab and then click download to browse for the application.
Step 7: After you have located the GPS download you can now press open to transfer the file into your Nextel phone.

Using Your GPS: When you get the GPS program installed and running you can then turn it on. It will automatically detect your exact location. In the options menu you can configure it to update every minute!

View Your Position From The World Wide Web:
1. Make sure your GPS program is running. Then goto Mologogo.com
2. On their home page you should see a map of the United States of America. Zoom in on that map to your location. You should then be able to see a bubble with your nickname next to it. That is your exact location! You can reload the page about once out of every 2-4 minutes!
