Ok. the i860 is able to load 3gp clips as long as they are in the proper format. Follow the tutorial below to do so. -
In this tut, I'm gonna try to clearly explain how to upload a short clip (movie) to your i860's. Tools your gonna need: Nokia Multimedia converter Pro v2.0 Some type of upload jal (WebJal, JeffaJal... ) weteva USB or Serial Connection to phone And of course some type of movie Nokia Multimedia Converter. The Jal software, wich is at the bottom of this post. Ok, now for the works... Open Nokia Multimedia Converter and use these setting for your new 30 second video clip: Under Video Tab Image Size: sub-QCIF(128x96) Frame Rate: 10 Under Audio Tab AMR Bit rate: 4.75 Near the bottom Max file size [kb]: 150 (Thats about 32 seconds of movie fun) With all that set... Open the movie you would like to convert for your i860. I've only converted *.mpg's, so ill go with that. In the box that says: "Start Time sec:" you can move your curser to where you want the movie to start in order to get a time readout. When counting seconds.. if its above a minute, your gonna have to do some math. You cant use 03:20. You'll have to add it up. eg., 60 + 60 + 60 + 20 = 200 seconds. Once thats done... Hit the convert button. It will ask you where and what to save it as. The format is by default *.3gp . That's the format we want. Hit Save and watch it convert ! The finished product should display on the small right hand screen. The quality sucks but hey, what more do you want. Need better ? Strap a CRT to your belt. Heh. Close Nokia Multimedia Converter once its done converting. Open your jal uploading software. Login, Connect and go to "Load Ring Tones". On the top right, click "Add". Move to the directory where your new converted movie is located. By default webjal will not let you choose the format ".3gp". we have to trick into accepting. If you saved your new movie as "weteva.3gp", type that out in the "File Name:" box and hit open. BAM ! You should see it in the nice little white box, ready for uploading to your phone. Click "Download" and it should start sending the movie to your i860. Disconnect from your jal and check out your 30 second movie. It's under "Media Center".
