insurance,deal or no deal?
Hi first time poster and a new owner of an i870.Puzzled by the fact that this phone while being so full featured either can't do things that most phones can or a degree from MIT is needed to make a ringtone. This phone was costly and may be tempermental. The insurance for this phone is $4.95 per month and has a$100 deductible.
That seems high, can any other i870 owners give any input here? all the best, lizzzard |

Re: insurance,deal or no deal?
The insurance is a good deal if you loose your phone or run it over. they just started with the 100 deduct, but if you have the service plan you can work around the 100 deduct Ex:
I just took my I870 in to a service center for a new flip they checked for water damage and found none, then the gave me a refurbed phone at no cost.( because I have the service plan) if I were to call the sig. they would LOVE to charge me the deduct, but screw them I'll never pay that deduct ever. but I keep the insurance just in case, otherwise I'll get screw...... Hope this help you if it did please post a thank you for me under my profile..... Dafe

Re: insurance,deal or no deal?
There is a new insurance company with Nextel and is Asurion, I worked several months with Signal and I dont like they service. With Asurion your deductible will be the same for all the equipments: $50.00 and you can get the insurance in 2 ways: TEP costs you $6.00 (Asurion asistance and equipment service and repair) or you can get only the Asurion asistance at $4.00 per line and per month.
You will be covered in case of stolen, lost phone or if you phone is totally broken or gets wet and stop working. Mario Alberto Nextel CSR - Tier 1. |

You can call to 1800-639-6111 and ask for the Total Equipment Protection $60.00 with the Customer care representative. He must explain you the month in advance and prorated charges issues.
