text messaging

When I go to text message certain people from my 1730 there is a huge delay as to when they receive it. then When they reply to my text the repy is like a 30 to 60 min delay. Is there a way for me to fix this?

mines the same way i think it all depends on what carrier you are sending it to. is it always a nextel carriers phone?
