i870 Chrome Battery Door Toot!!

Ok ladies and gents. After alot of trial and error I think I got it down and am gonna tell ya how to do it. First off the coating on the i870 battery doors is not paint but anodization. In order to take that of you can either sand till your fingers bleed or try my method.

1. Go to the local Wally world, Target or your local grocery store and pick up yourself a can of Oven and grill cleaner.

2. Next spray a healthy dose of it onto the door and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Wipe it off with a clean terry cloth towel and if it needs a second go around hit it again.......but be careful cause it can etch the aluminum (trust me) ...

3. Ok now that you have gotten all the anodized crap off fill a bowl full of warm water ( I like to add a drop or 2 of Dawn dish soap). Now start out with 1000 grit wet sand paper and work it till it starts to get a little bit of shine to it.....keep dunking the door and the paper in the water to rinse it.

4. Next move onto 2000 grit sand paper and sand , sand , sand. After a while it starts to look really good but alas you are not done yet.

5. Make sure to dry off the door good and grab some metal polish and a clean white terry cloth towel...I personally use Mothers mag and aluminum polish. now put a good sized dab of polish on the cloth and work it in good all over.( It should start turning black on you) Find a clean spot on the towel and buff it to a high gloss shine. Thats pretty much it. Lemme know what you think...
