phone issues

a little over a month ago, my phone started screwing up. i've pretty much ignored it until now hoping it'd fix itself lol. one day, the caller ID just stopped working for no reason. it still doesn't work. it just says, "incoming call" ...another thing is that it doesn't tell me when i get a voicemail. i have to check every once in a while to see if i have one. any idea what could be wrong?

it sounds like you dont have caller id and voice mail on your plan. What plan are you on some require you pay $1 for voice mail and $1 for caller id.

you need to add caller id for $1.00 as for the voicemail, if you don't get updates but can still get your messages by manually calling, you need yo call nextel and tell them to add the SOC Code "PDSBROWSE" That should fix your problem!!!

that's the thing... i've had caller id for three years. just kinda stopped working one day. and the same day, it stopped alerting me when i had a voicemail. i have to call every so often to see if somebody called because they won't be in the recent calls list and it doesn't tell me if there's a voicemail... i was hoping i wouldn't have to call customer service or take the phone down to the service center but i suppose i'll just give them a call tomorrow. thanks.

Yeahall you have to do is call nextel and you should be ok, they may have updated their systems, because i know they were supposed to, and that is probably why that happened. just explainwhat happened and i'm sure they will fix it for you!

They disabled SMS Short messaging Service,Thats why you have no voicemail alerts, I get charged 3.15 a month for SMS when I have 2 way Messaging premier, NO idea why, but if SMS was/IS disabled, You will not get alerted for voicemail, Call up and tell them that SMS was disabled, And theyll Enable it.

voicemail has NOTHING to do with SMS! SMS is for Short Messenging Service! kinda like text messageing!!! The problem is PDSBROWSE is not on his phone, i am looking into this at this time, his phone is functional!! Thank all for the input
