Nextel Blackberry Warrany

BEWARE!!!! Nextel does not warranty the Blackberry! The manufacturer DOES NOT warranty any phone bought through Nextel!!!!!

I am the proud owner of a 7 month old Blackberry 7520 paper weight!.

if you have the service and repair plan on your account you can go to ANY nextel service and repair center and have your blackberry swapped at NO COST, did 3 swaps this week myself. if you do not have the service plan it should cost you $35 to have it swapped depending on when and where you go it will take about 1-3 days to get you a new unit so why should I beware it IS covered. ( that may change very soon but as of now it is covered )

No I didn’t purchase the insurance because it came with a 1 year warranty.

I understand your point about having insurance, however I still have a warranty and Nextel is refusing to honor it.

Here’s what they say….come to a service center, drop of your phone and we will give you a new one. We will then send your phone to our main service center and they will “attempt” to fix it. HOWEVER, if your phone is DBR (damaged beyond repair) you will receive a bill for $500.00 + $35.00

correct but the chances of it being DBR are slim to none unless you ran it over with you car you will be fine. If its that big a deal go to Research in Motion website or RIM website they are the ones that actually have the warranty because they made the device you can't go to nextel and ask them to warranty something that technically isn't theirs. If you are adimat about getting it fixed under the warranty those are the people you should talk to or else seriously go to a service center and pay the $35.
