Nextel's frequency hop

I spoke with someone who said that there was a way to set your nextel phone up so it jumps frequencies and reduces the number of dropped calls. I was wondering how you would be able to do this and why wouldn't nextel notify us of this feature.

to the best of my knowledge the person you are talking to doesn't know shit. Your phone is set to the frequencies it needs at the factory and thats it with some other carries you may be able to switch from digital service to analog service to get it to work but nextel has never had those kind of options.

there is no such thing as err channel giving you free dc, thats a HOAX

i USUALLY wil not hurt your phone its really a test mode for when you have bad reception and you call nextel and they want to run test they have you enable it.

ive seen spotty reports of this feature helping reception but it never really worked for me personaly.

also a friend enabled it and when he tried to run testris is froze his i830 up bad.
